Incredible city in lovely Normandy!
Incredible city in lovely Normandy! A lot of wonderful traditional French architecture, roof tops with ardoise, a lot of boats in the port, seagulls - you will find much more than you can imagine! We like Normandie very much, we stayed in Deauville-Trouville-sur-Mer many times and decided to research sea cost far up to La Havr. So we arrive to Honfleur only just to walk during a day, but - we stayed for night))) and after that for one more night))) If you really like France and especially Normandy, you will never tire of walking there, no matter how long you are there!

A very touristy place to visit. Lots of places to eat and drink that get packed very early for lunch and dinner. Not cheap. No need to go back but I can see why some people would be attracted to the quayside etc.

An absolutely lovely town visually, with a 16-17th core and one great modern(ish) art gallery (Eugène Boudin) plus one v quirky museum (Satie). It's stuffed with private art galleries (some of them excellent) and restaurants (most decidedly average, but then even average moules frites are v nice); that's because it's tourism central, with the old part of town wall-to-wall holiday lets and the streets thronged with rubbernecking tourists (including us). The rest of the town, around the edges of the vieux ville, is pleasant enough, with real shops and local inhabitants. The beach, a short way out of town, is long, sandy and vast; the viewpoints above the town are worth visiting both for the views and the quirky Notre Dame de Grace; and Honfleur is well placed for visiting the likes of Deauville and Trouville, Le Havre (another fine museum/gallery, with lots of Raoul Dufy), Etretat (forget the town, it's hell trying to find somewhere to park: make for the gardens up above it), and Calvados country generally (for the local markets and local produce. Like Calvados)

A pretty coastal town in Normandy where many artists lived.
A pretty coastal town in Normandy where many artists lived. The Boudin museum is worth a visit. The celebrities sculpture park (Garden of Fame) is great for a walk - beautiful, well maintained, peaceful. (Free public toilets.)The old town has interesting architecture, but the area around the harbour is full of tourists, sundry shops and eating places catering for the crowds....

Honfleur was such a delight , we decided to stay an extra night than originally planned, so much to see.
Plenty of history with historic and beautiful buildings around the harbour.
So many restaurants, cafes, shops and bars.
Every meal we had was delicious, serving time was quite lengthy, everywhere was extremely busy.
A pretty place to visit. I would like to stay again but longer next time.
The lovely renovated property was perfect for a couple. Great location in Honfleur with an easy walk to the harbour, restaurants and shops. Very peaceful at night for a good nights sleep in a super comfy bed, with good quality linens and towels. Great shower! The kitchen is well fitted with appliances and cooking utensils.
As mentioned in other reviews the stairs up to the second floor are quite narrow which is typical for buildings in this historic town, but the sunrise view is worth it!
Veronique was a wonderful host.
This property is spectacular. Operators are wonderful, customer focused and incredibly nice. A fantastic car park, just 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. Wonderful location, just a couple of minutes walk to Church, clock tower and marinas. The most beautiful small city in France. Wonderful city for ateliers, artists of all kinds as well. Breakfast was incredible. Try an omelet. Fresh juices, croissants (of course) and beautifully served. We cannot wait to return to Maison de Lucie!
The loft is in a fantastic location but parking is a challenge. Muriel has thought of every detail, the cleanliness is an A+, and it immediately felt like home. Plus, it was quiet! There was a tasty welcome bottle of cidre from a local farm in the fridge. Lots of restaurants nearby and a Nespresso machine to start the day off on the right foot. I wish we could have stayed longer as Honfleur is a charming and interesting town.
Nice hotel which, while not in the town center was not too far from Honfleur proper. Next to the hotel was a small shopping cente with stores including a nice bakery with fresh regional products at reasonable prices. The hotel pool is nice yet quite small but Ok if there are only a few people at a time using it. Breakfast was very nice but at 15€ / person we did not use it every day.
Homely, easy access and about 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Honfleur. Large parking area. Genuinely friendly welcome. Lovely breakfast which unfortunately we had to eat quickly as we needed to get on the road to Calais. Our room and bed was very comfortable and provided everything we needed it was just a pity we were unable to stay longer on this particular trip.
We stayed in the suite, which was basically a family room, and it was nice to have the space. It was shabby furniture, but the bath was very state of the art. Dog friendly, nice staff, AC worked well. Breakfast was good - and the restaurant associated with the hotel was very good too. Good location in centre but this also caused issues with parking.
Typical chain hotel in a very good location for reaching after late-ish ferry arrival at Le Havre. Obviously an older hotel but nicely refurbished. Easy access from motorway. Very convenient for a visit for a visit to Honfleur next morning. Quiet, plenty of free parking, large, comfortable bed and excellent keenly priced breakfast.
Delightful apartment in Honfleur, tastefully decorated. The location was excellent. A quiet side street with boulangerie at the end of the road. Very close to the harbour and free parking nearby. The apartment was very spacious and if the weather has been warmer we would have made more use of the outside seating area.
Had read previous reviews about this place. All reviews were very true. Beautiful place. Grade view of Honfleur from above after a short walk. Short walk into town. Had a 5 star dinner at the Hotels restaurant. The owners husband and wife do everything for their guest. Best place to stay in Honfleur.
Fantastic location.
Excellent provision of essentials to make this a perfect venue for a self-catering break.
One of the best properties we have stayed in over many years of visiting France.
For a short break visiting the fascinating and historic town of Honfleur we recommend Le Brin de Folie 100%
The hotel was very charming, comfortable, breakfast was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. The town of Honfleur is very nice and we loved walking around and eating down by the water. This was one of our favorite towns we visited on our trip.
Beautiful hotel situated in old buildings in Honfleur. Very stylish and artful decoration. Great room (and bathroom). Breakfast was excellent. Located on the edge of Honfleur, quiet and 200m walk from the Harbour. Car park available as well.
Very nice and cosy hotel in the heart of Honfleur!
The staff was super friendly and very helpful with all my questions. I've also received some good restaurant tips!
I would certainly go back to this hotel for future visits to Honfleur!
This affordable hotel is very conveniently located at the edge of Honfleur’s historical centre.
Facilities are basic but comfortable and clean. The staff were remarkably friendly and helpful.
The hotel was very well situated close to the centre of Honfleur. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. There was free parking available at the hotel.
Excellent spot in Honfleur and beautiful hotel. Great value for the price. We have been upgraded to a better superior suite, awesome experience and very good staff.
